Minnesota School of Cosmetology

Minnesota School of Cosmetology is working to provide those with the natural sense of artistry the opportunity to turn their style into a promising career. With a 125-year background in educational excellence (50 years in cosmetology specific training), advanced degree training, and esteemed instructors, MSC works to help you develop into an experienced stylist, esthetician, make-up artist, or nail technician.

Minnesota School of Cosmetology has relied on the rich history of Minnesota Cosmetology Education Center and Globe College. Minnesota Cosmetology Education Center was established in 1950, in a residential home that was converted to a school setting. In 1988, new owners purchased the school, and revamped the curriculum focus on the salon industry of the 1990s. Students not only learned cosmetology, but also focused on sales training, communication, fashion, and technical ability. In 2003, Minnesota Cosmetology Education Center was acquired by Terry and Kaye Myhre, who renamed the institution Minnesota School of Cosmetology, and moved the facility from South Saint Paul, to the newly built, innovative location in Oakdale. This shift in location made it easier for students to participate in classes at Globe College. And become part of the Minnesota School of Business/Globe College family.
