The school of hairstyling was founded under the name of Jack's Hairstylist College in 1962 and has been in continuous operation since it's opening. In 1973 the name was changed to RD Hairstyling College, Inc.
In June 2000 RD Hairstyling College, Inc. merged with the former Christie Beauty College, Bismarck.
December 1, 2007 RD Hairstyling College was purchased by JZ TREND ACADEMY INC. and signed fanchise agreement with Paul Mitchell partner school prgram and is currently in transition until new facility is built by projectd date of September 2008.

In 1974 the school's 1800 hour course was nationally accredited by NACCAS. NACCAS is recognized by the United States Department of Education as the National Accrediting Agency for private cosmetology schools.
