Teacher Training

Teacher Training program is essential to becoming an instructor at a highly regarded beauty school.

There are beauty schools that offer Teacher Training programs within their prospectus, the most of these schools introduce teaching methodology and educational techniques needed to develop lesson plans, evaluate student skills and more. In addition they prepare the licensed cosmetologists to:
  • Make lesson plans
  • Learn to drive a classroom of students
  • Instruct students and classify strengths/weaknesses in their students
  • Prepare future cosmetology professionals for beauty careers
Becoming a teacher is a gratifying position which allows you to help future professionals such as yourself learn more about the cosmetology industry and help students recognize their strengths in cosmetology to prepare them for a successful career.

As a cosmetology teacher, not only will you educate cosmetology students in diverse fields of study including hairstyling, nail technology, esthetic services, skin care and business strategies, you will also have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of future cosmetologists and in the beauty industry as a whole.

Most beauty schools require 1200 to 1800 hours to complete the Teacher Training program. Upon successful conclusion of this program, the graduate will obtain a certificate. She/he is prepared for an entry-level position as a Cosmetology Instructor.

Cosmetology teachers often work 35 to 40 hours a week in a move pattern, which includes early mornings, evenings and weekends.

All applicants must have an active cosmetology license to enter the instructor program.

Training frequently is broken up into both technical classroom instruction in the science and art of teaching. You will receive conventional classroom training; however, the greater part of training is learned through practical, hands-on exercises leaded by a knowledgeable instructor.

This format supplies an outstanding learning experience that instructs Teacher Trainee students with a solid background of practical hands-on training directly related to classroom effectiveness for teaching in beauty programs.
