Beauty School Requirements
If you are interested in applying to a beauty school, you should consider some aspects and requirements that each school requests. Requirements to apply to a beauty school can vary widely from school to school, even from state to state. A few states require applicants to pass a physical test. Some states require graduation from high school while others require as little as an eighth-grade education, but in general applicants must have a high school diploma or an equivalency diploma such as a GED (General Education Development) certificate. If you do not have a high school diploma or GED yet, it is possible that you can be accepted into beauty school as long as you are tracking your diploma or GED at the same time. These requirements are not only necessary to get into a cosmetology school but are necessary to obtain a license to practice cosmetology. Many beauty schools offer morning or evenings classes in cosmetology.Full time programs may last from 9 to 24 months, but it takes less time to be trained for skin care specialists, manicurists, pedicurists and for others programs.
